Summary
Fishing game is my first commercial project. On this project I was a Unity Programmer that handled gameplay systems, UI and QA. The game was directed and designed by Louis Morel.
Fishing game is a story-based fishing simulator with all art and writing by Louis Morel. The main hook is the designs and descriptions of each fish, which get darker and more Lovecraftian as you progress. In this project, I refactored several systems in an existing codebase such as fish behaviour and the fish reeling minigame. Conducted playtests by distributing private builds to testers and collated feedback using online forms. This feedback was used to iterate on the game in its beta phase and inform our pricing decisions going forward into release. I was consulted to do market research for appropriate platforms for release, like Steam and itch.io. I also worked with the team to create trailers and social media plans for the game leading up to its release.
